Oxford Sailing Club have a range of boats which when not in use on courses may be hired by club members in order that they can take part in club activities and improve their skills.
Boats that can be hired are:
- Pico - A singlehander which can be sailed with a crew if desired
- Laser - A single hander, ideal for racing
- Wayfarer - A large stable family dinghy suitable for cruising and racing
- Laser 2/Fun - A crewed boat with trapeze and conventional spinnaker
- Laser 2000 - A crewed performance boat with asymmetric spinnaker
- RS Vision - A crewed performance boat with asymmetric spinnaker
- Laser 3000 - A crewed performance boat with asymmetric spinnaker
As well as the hire charge, which is needed to cover wear and tear, any maintenance and administration, a refundable deposit is required (£100) to cover the insurance excess in case of major damage.
For younger members the club also operates a long-term hire with 405 and Laser dinghies. These can be chartered for 6-month blocks at very reasonable rates. Requests for these boats should be made via the office.
